Oil Expeller Screw Type (SMT-MI-03)

This apparatus is designed to extract oil from various oil seeds and other organic materials by applying continuous mechanical pressure through a screw mechanism. It is used to demonstrate the industrial process of oil pressing on a small scale, allowing for the production of oil and the separation of solid waste, or cake. The unit is a screw-type expeller press featuring a motor-driven screw enclosed within a caged barrel. As the raw material is fed into one end, the rotating screw conveys it forward, gradually increasing pressure to squeeze out the oil. The expelled oil drains through the cage openings, while the compacted solid residue is discharged from the other end. The system is powered by a 1 HP motor operating on a standard 230V, 50Hz power supply. Its primary applications are in food processing, agricultural research, and biofuel production education. The key benefit is its ability to provide a hands-on understanding of mechanical oil extraction, enabling students to study the efficiency of the process, the yield from different materials, and the practical operation of a common piece of equipment used in the oilseed and bio-mass processing industries.
