End Runner Mill (SMT-MI-01)
This apparatus is designed for the grinding and refining of solid materials into fine powders, operating on the principle of a mechanized mortar and pestle. It is used for size reduction and homogenization of a variety of substances, particularly in industries where controlled, compressive comminution is required.
The mill consists of two heavy wheels, typically made of stone or metal, which are mounted on a horizontal shaft and rotate on their own axis within a shallow, stationary pan. Material is fed into the center of the pan and is ground as the wheels roll over it, moving the substance outward. Scrapers constantly remove the processed material from the bottom of pan and redirect it under the wheels for further crushing. The unit is powered by a robust motor and is built for continuous, low-maintenance operation.
Its primary applications are in the pharmaceutical, chemical, and ceramic industries for fine grinding and mixing of powders. The key benefit is its ability to provide a consistent, controlled compressive force that results in uniform particle size reduction without generating excessive heat, making it suitable for heat-sensitive materials and ensuring a refined, homogeneous final product.
