Free and Forced Convection Apparatus (SMT-HT-18S)
The ESOLS Heat Transfer Apparatus is a vertical duct system designed to study convection heat transfer characteristics. It includes three interchangeable heat transfer surfaces: flat plate, pinned surface, and finned surface. Each surface is equipped with an independent variable-power electric heater. The selected test surface is easily mounted inside the duct using simple fixings. Free convection is studied by natural upward airflow due to heating, while forced convection is achieved using a variable-speed fan. Multiple thermocouples measure air and surface temperatures accurately. A traversing temperature probe enables analysis of temperature distribution and bulk outlet temperature. The unit features a touch LCD display and integrated software for data visualization and computer-based analysis.
